Shrek 2 Remastered PC specs revealed

For those eagerly anticipating the onion-like layers of chaotic fun of the upcoming Shrek 2 Remastered, things may just take a swampy turn. In a surprise revelation, the Steam page for Shrek 2 Remastered was briefly updated to include rather demanding minimum requirements. Unfortunately, this is the part where many PC gamers may run away.

Shrek 2: Remastered's minimum requirements are as follows:

-Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
-Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-12400F
-16GB RAM
-Radeon RX 7600 or GeForce RTX 4060

Recommended graphical specs include:

-Radeon RX 7800 XT or RX 9070 (12GB-16GB VRAM) or GeForce RTX 4070 or RTX 5070 (12GB VRAM)

Shrek 2 Remastered developer Aspyr has since seemingly taken down these specification requirements, and it is presently unclear whether these recommendations are being adjusted behind-the-scenes amidst likely ongoing optimization efforts by the developer, Aspyr. Several recent Aspyr ports and remasters, such as Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, drew notable criticism over missing promised content, game-breaking bugs, and widespread performance issues.

Hopefully Shrek 2 Remastered presents a fresh start for the studio, and players get the remaster they deserve.
