The inkwells churn, not with the usual chaotic burst of new stories, but with the steady, reassuring hum of a tale returning to its roots. For the first time in its history, Disney Lorcana is entering a new era with its ninth set, Fabled. Unlike previous expansions that brought a fresh wave of characters and mechanics, Fabled serves a different purpose: to re-establish the core foundations of the game through a major set rotation, while also introducing a handful of new cards to shake up the meta. This is more than just a new set—it's a reset button for the entire game.

Mechanics

While Fabled may be a reprint-heavy set, it brings a fresh twist to the game's collectible nature with the introduction of two new card rarities: Epic and Iconic. Epic cards slot in as a new tier of rarity between Legendary and Enchanted, offering beautiful full art treatments above the card name. Iconic cards, on the other hand, are the new, ultra-rare chase cards, featuring a completely borderless, full alternative art with custom lore star foiling and a unique 3D hot stamp effect. Only two Iconic cards will appear per set, making them the most coveted pulls for any collector.

The Cards

With 204 cards in the set, players will recognize a staggering 177 reprints from the game's earliest expansions. This is a deliberate move to reintroduce powerful cards and provide a new entry point for players who may have missed the first few sets. However, the set also includes 33 brand-new, mechanically unique cards designed to fill the strategic gaps left by the cards rotating out. Fan-favorite characters from A Goofy Movie are making their long-awaited debut, with Powerline and Max Goof leading the charge. Other new additions include characters from classic stories like Dumbo and fan-favorite characters such as Darkwing Duck.

● Booster Packs: As with every set, Booster Packs are the core of the experience, offering 12 random cards with a chance to pull any of the new Epic or Iconic cards.

● Single-Player Decks: Two new starter decks are available, each highlighting a different Ink combination and playstyle. The Amber/Sapphire deck, featuring Ariel and Mulan, focuses on strategy and control, while the Emerald/Ruby deck, led by Max Goof and Powerline, is a high-octane, aggressive deck.

● Illumineer's Trove: The highly sought-after Illumineer's Trove returns, offering a comprehensive collection experience with 8 booster packs, a storage box, six card dividers, and a full-art lore counter and dice.

● Collection Starter Set: Designed with collectors in mind, this new product includes four booster packs, a portfolio binder for Mickey Mouse - Brave Little Tailor, a collector's guide, and a special glimmer foil Tinker Bell card.

● Elsa Gift Set: A themed storage box featuring Elsa, five booster packs, and a unique glimmer foil Elsa - The Fifth Spirit promo card.
